Colditz March
The acclaimed Canadian composer/arranger Robert Farnon penned this distinctive march theme for the 1972 BBC television drama 'Colditz' telling the story of Allied prisoners held at Colditz Castle in Germany during World War II.
Farnon's ability to create a vivid musical image within the strictures of the march form are retained in this arrangement despite the much reduced forces

Crossroads
Tony Hatch's theme from the long running British soap-opera about a Motel in the Midlands. This arrangement, for small performance ensemble, evokes memories of teatime viewing during the 60' and 70's.


Fawlty Towers
The BBC sitcom 'Fawlty Towers', written by and starring John Cleese and Connie Booth and set in a sea-side hotel featured a cast of misfit stereotypes, bouncing from one disaster to another. Dennis Wilson (1920 - 1989) produced a gentle theme which leads to a much faster section in which the melody is varied and distorted melodically and harmonically before the main theme reoccurs.


Fireball
This is an arrangement of the song 'Fireball' sung over the end credits of 'Fireball XL5' a British childrens TV series featuring Gerry Anderson's marrionettes as the cast. The song by Barry Gray and performed by Don Spencer was a chart hit.


Foyle's War
Jim Parker's haunting main theme music to the TV drama series 'Foyles War' is arranged to feature the Tenor Sax.
The main melody and countermelodies require a sentistive legato whilst maintaining their phrasing against thequicker moving Keyboard (Strings) and Bass parts. Balance is very important to gain the atmospheric mood.


Funeral March of a Marionette
Always an audience pleaser, Gounod's much loved piano composition has been arranged for mixed ensemble.
The music is programatic with sections describing that the Marionette has broken, the murmers of regret from the troupe, the cortege, the mourners pausing for refreshement before the main theme recurrs returning the participants to their starting point.


Gnossienne No. 1
Gnossienne No. 1 was composed around 1890 and first published in 1893. In this arrangement a sense of 'otherworldlyness' is layered over a more grounded accompaniment in the Baritone Sax and Drums. The other saxes try and tie the melody into the this more rigid foundation although crossing the barrier on occasion and sharing out portions of the melody.


Groundforce
Ground Force was a British garden makeover television series with music composed by Jim Parker and performed by the Black Dyke Band. The theme reflects the busy activity involved in the projects. Over the main themes there are often short musical interjections at faster pace possibly denoting a burst of activity somewhere in the garden.


Gymnopedie No. 1
Probably Erik Satie's best known work this piece flits between major and minor tonalities and even flirts with mild, but deliberate dissonance. In this arrangement the music moves into a jazz waltz style variation before returning to the original style.
